Amicia zygomeris 'John's Big Splash' has indeed made quite a splash with visitors to our garden. Amicia 'John's Big Splash' was first discovered by John Tuite at West Acre Gardens in the UK and was subsequently named by UK plantsman, Bob Brown. For us, Amicia 'John's Big Splash' produces 7' tall upright stalks, clothed with attractive, irregularly splashed green and white leaves. When flowering starts for us in late summer, the clumps are topped with large, pea-like, yellow flowers and adorned with large stipules that resemble clerical collars...you just can't make up this stuff.
