    This South American species of Peruvian lily is considered the most cold hardy. The evergreen basal rosettes of fleshy green foliage, give rise in late spring and early summer to 3' tall flowering spikes. Each spike is topped a cluster of 6 unique flowers... red toward the throat and yellow green toward the tips, with the entire inside spotted with dark maroon lines... very cool! Although slow to establish, Peruvian Lilies will make a nice colony by underground rhizomes when happy, but their rate of spread has always been easy to control.
