    From Japan comes a dwarf selection of one of the Asian garden-worthy allium species. Unlike taller forms of A. thunbergii, this dwarf selection only reaches a maximum height of 10"...perfect for the rock garden. The narrow, thread-like foliage makes a small clump that is topped in October and November with 1" rounded heads of bright violet flowers...a real cutie! Most English books list this as only hardy to zone 8, but its range extends well into zone 4 and 5 regions.
