This Mexican species of agave is worthy of a starring role in one of those Fatal Attraction movies. It closely resembles A. striata (botanists swear it's different). It has the same stiff, round sword-like leaves (the width of a narrow pencil) that radiate out from the center, forming a symmetrical 24" wide porcupine-like clump. The narrow 6' flower spike in late summer is topped with very unusual spider-like flowers in colors of greens and purples...bizarre!
