We would like to thank Brian Kemble at the Ruth Bancroft Garden for sharing seed of his 2003 agave collection from just west of the mountain town of Guadalcazar in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Brian described this to us as a solitary form of something resembling A. lophantha, possibly the newly described A. garcia-mendozae. The glossy green leaves that compose the 2' wide clumps have a muted yellow central stripe. Since I haven't seen this new species, I can't verify that this is the case. Regardless, it's different and new, so get them while they last.
