Agave 'Grey Gator' is a PDN selection of the naturally-occurring hybrid between Agave scabra x Agave salmiana var. ferox. Agave 'Grey Gator' makes a huge 8' wide x 5' tall clump of long scabrous (sandpaper-like), deeply-channeled (not the Shirley MacLaine type) grey leaves with an upturned long black-spined tip. This has been a good offsetting clone, producing a decent amount of offspring to share or sell. We have not seen any winter damage into the mid-single digits F.
