We are pleased to be able to offer this recently named species from the high elevations in northern Mexico. Agave montana was previously lumped into the A. macroculmis complex but has now been recognized as a separate species. A. montana makes a bright glossy green non-suckering mound that can reach 5' wide. Each thick leaf has large shark-like teeth on the edges and an imposing long black spine on each leaf tip. I highly recommend a double row of these where deer are a problem. During the night, the deer impale themselves trying to jump over the agaves, and next morning, a few hours with the flame-thrower and you're ready for a feast.
