Agave mckelveyana is one of the most winter hardy century plant species, yet also one of the most heat sensitive, hailing from 3,000-6,000' elevation in western Arizona. Agave mckelveyana forms a small suckering rosette to 12" tall x 12" wide. Each grey green leaf reaches 10" long x 2" wide with prominent spines...great for the dry rock garden. Despite being cold hardy, Agave mckelveyana is extremely sensitive to overwatering, so locate it so that it stays very dry during the winter months.
