Agave x flexisperrima is a 2022 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a hybrid of two North American species, Agave flexispina and Agave asperrima. This seed-grown crop has shown exceptional vigor. The offspring share traits of both parents...all with the asperous (sandpapery) leaf backs. Some clones have narrow, guttered leaves like Agave asperrima, while others have wider, flattened leaves from the Agave flexispina blood. We have yet to grow these to a larger size, but expect them to reach 1-2' in height and 2-4' in width. This is a very limited offering, so if these intrigue you, like they do us, best not to delay.
