Many new to gardening believe that in order for plants to grow properly they will require plenty of sunlight. This is not necessarily true. There are a number of plants that will flourish in shaded areas. Some gardeners use plants for shade to beautify areas around their homes and gardens that receive only partial sunlight or no sunlight at all. While most shade plants prefer some sunlight, there are a few varieties that will thrive in full shade. Plant Delights Nursery offers a wide variety of plants that flourish in shaded areas. Hostas are a popular choice for lightly shaded areas and provide a wonderful splash of color in both their leaves and their blooms.

Shade plants are available for any zone. If you are unsure of your specific zone or which plants may fit well for your environment, simply contact one of our knowledgeable representatives. We offer many hardy garden ferns that will grow in full shade as well as several varieties that prefer partial sunlight. A few elephant ears even prefer partial shade and provide an exotic and tropical look to any garden area.

We welcome visitors to our gardens during our Open House Days or learn more about the varieties of plants that we offer by browsing our website. If you would like more information about shade plants or how to incorporate them into your garden, contact us directly via phone or email today.
