This collection of the stunning specimen plant, Yucca torreyi, comes from a Yucca Do expedition to Stirling County, Texas (Zone 7b). The seed are from a form that seem more robust and slightly more glaucous-blue than normal. In this area, the trunks only reach 3' tall, although Y. torreyi in cultivation can easily reach 20' tall. We are unsure if the short height is due to the inhospitable climate or if these are genetic dwarfs. The rigid 3' long, ldeer-resistant eaves with occasional filaments (fibers) make great bayonets if neighbors become unneighborly.
