    This west coast US native is one of those highly sought after, but hard to find gems for the plant collector. Xerophyllum is a member of the lily family, most closely related to Nolinas. The wiry evergreen foliage makes a nolina like clump. After growing for several years, a 5' flowering spike emerges with hundreds or white flowers clustered toward the tip...just the thing Kodak moments are made of! Bear grass needs a very well drained dry slope for best performance.
