(Woodwardia unigemmata YD 19-70) This Yucca Do collection of the evergreen (to 15 degrees F) Woodwardia unigemmata comes from 3,000' elevation in Ping Wu (aka Penqwa), China. Each slow-growing clump eventually reaches 2' tall x 6' wide, forming a stunning specimen. When the giant 4' long x 2' wide fronds mature, they are adorned annually by two small plantlets that form on the underside of the leaf...one in the center and one at the tip. Moist, organically-rich soils will grow the largest plants. Because the spore does not ripen until January, we rarely see them mature in our climate.
