Trifolium repens 'Wheatfen'

Okay, so it wanders around a bit, but this is one really cool plant! This dark-red purple leaf form of the common white clover makes one of the most exquisite groundcovers that we have seen...best in all but the driest of sites. The flat stems that root at each node are covered with small ever-purple clover-like foliage. In mid-summer the mats are topped with pink red clover flowers...extremely cute. T. 'Wheatfen' is great for a large groundcover or in a combination container. In good soils, it can make a 3' wide patch after one season!
