Tricyrtis 'Edo no Hana' is a Japanese selection, supposedly of the Taiwanese Tricyrtis lasiocarpa, but the growth habit tells us that it is probably a hybrid with T. lasiocarpa. The flowers, which top the 22" tall x 5' wide spreading patch, begin for us in mid-September with mauvy lavender tipped petals, each speckled toward the throat and lightening in color toward the basal yellow blotches...plus each flower has been tricked out with a rosy red stigma.
