(aka: Thuja Hoogi023) Thuja 'Sunny Smaragd' is a branch mutation on the North American native arborvitae, discovered by Holland's Sebastian Hoogenraad at his family nursery. Compared to the popular Thuja 'Smargd', this new introduction is much brighter gold during the growing season. Despite the gold color, the foliage doesn't burn in full sun. In fall, the foliage turns a lovely shade of orange.
