This 1887 introduction from Parsons Nursery in NY is still virtually impossible to find in the trade. T. occidentalis 'Columbia' forms a columnar shape with white tip branches that are most spectacular in summer and in the winter...a great plant for winter interest in the landscape. In ten years expect a 10' tall x 4' wide specimen...much faster growing where there are cool summer nights.
