This incredible find by Ozzie Johnson and Ron Determann of the Atlanta Botanical Garden is going to be the native plant darling of the perennial world. Stokesia 'Omega Skyrocket' (a seed strain) has the typical green basal rosette of waxy leaves, but the flower stalks in early summer shoot skyward in excess of 3'. Wonderful, large blue stokesia flowers top the sturdy giant stalks. This is the greatest thing to hit perennial borders in years!
