The identity of this plant is in question, but not the performance. S. iridifolium has been one of the most persistent of the "blue eyed grasses" that we have grown. S. iridifolium makes a nice 18" wide open clump, smothered from spring through summer with cute little 1/2 inch wide star shaped flowers of creamy white with a dark purple eye. Each petal is backed with dramatic dark purple lines following the veins. This distinctive species deserves a well drained spot in the rock garden.
