(aka: Corytholoma curtiflorum) Okay, so this isn't going to appeal to the petunia and pansy crowd, but geez...it's one tough and reliable perennial that draws an amazing amount of interest from visitors. Sinningia curtiflora makes a slowly stoloniferous patch to 3' wide in 5 years. The plants are topped in July and August with 3' tall spikes, laden toward the top with clusters of tiny orange-red flowers.
