This wonderful drought-loving NC native forms a small basal rosette of glossy green foliage. In June, the rosette bursts forth with 12" stalks, each ending in a starburst of 1" brilliant reddish orange flowers...not for the faint of heart or the lover of pastels. Fire pink (important note: most male plant collectors are color blind) prefers good drainage and does not like to be crowded, so plant accordingly.
