I fell in love with the Crimean native Seseli gummiferum when I visited the Denver Botanic Garden in 2013. Although moon carrot is a biennial/short-lived perennial, we just had to share. The lacy silver-blue foliage of Seseli gummiferum resembles a compact Artemisia 'Powis Castle', topped in summer with 30" tall spikes that emerge like a white Queen Anne's Lace, but then morph to a mauvy pink. In the wild, Seseli gummiferum grows above 3,000' elevation in rocky alkaline soils, but it's enjoyed both our 300' elevation and amended loam so far...the key is well-drained soils.
