Sempervivum 'Silber Karneol' has been a superb performing hen and chickens in our hot, humid, rainy climate. It's stellar performance isn't surprising, since it was selected by the late German plant guru, Karl Foerster. Sempervivum 'Silber Karneol' forms a dense mat of fast-offsetting cinnamon-red rosettes, which range in size from .5 to 2.5" wide. We love this in our rock garden where the rosettes knit tightly together.
