Sedum ternatum is another of our superb native sedums. In the wild, S. ternatum grows in rich, rocky woodlands from Maine south to Mississippi and west to Missouri....must be an "M" thing. Despite being native in shade, we have had great luck also growing it in our full sun rock garden. The spreading rosettes of round fleshy lime-green leaves form a flat clump up to 15" wide. The clumps are topped with 4-6" branched flower spikes of outstanding pure white flowers from early April through mid-June (in NC). Our collection is from 2,031' elevation in Van Buren Co, TN, where it was growing near trilliums.
