Dave Fross of Native Son Nursery in California shared this amazing miniature-leaf santolina that he brought back from a trip to Europe. S. 'Little Nicky' resembles an ancient dwarf conifer, forming a tight mound of very aromatic, congested, grey-green growth, eventually reaching 10" wide x 6" tall...superb for rock gardens and miniature railroads. Reportedly, S. 'Little Nicky' does produce the same yellow flowers as the species, but our plants have never thought about flowering. As with all santolinas, good drainage in the summer is very important.
