This unusual little plant from the mountains of South Africa looks like an ice plant that's had a bad experience with a roto-tiller. The fleshy grey-green congested growth makes a small 1' wide clump that fits perfectly into a rock garden. From late spring through early summer, the branch tips are home to small cerise-pink flowers. Although good drainage, especially in the winter is important, this has been tough as nails in the hot, humid eastern US.
