We have long admired this US native on our trips through the midwest. R. subtomentosa is a giant compared to R. Goldsturm. The stalks arising from the basal foliage extend upwards to 4', then burst forth with hundreds of 2-3" black eyed susan flowers. For us, it stands up well, except in rich irrigated soil...great in borders or meadow gardens!
