From Holland's Marco van Noort comes this stunning selection of the Chinese Rodgersia pinnata, with foliage that emerges chocolate-purple (darker in a cool spring). The bold textured, 5-parted leaves make an architectural 18" tall x 3' wide clump, topped in mid-spring with arching, 4.5' tall spikes of pink flowers. Moist soils and light shade will give the best performance. Excess summer heat, as Martha would say, is not a good thing.
