(aka: Pycnanthemum 'Malcom's Mint') Pycnanthemum 'Malcolm Vidrine' is a uniquely fragrant selection of the Southeast native (Illinois south to Texas) Pycnanthemum albescens, selected from a Louisiana population by retired LSU Professor, Dr. Malcolm Vidrine. The 3' tall x 3' wide clumping plants are clothed with beautifully silvery green foliage that reeks of spearmint instead of the typical camphor fragrance. The clumps are topped, starting for us in early October with heads of tiny mauve flowers. This is a truly unique mountain mint, that both you and the native bees will love in your sun garden. Pycnanthemum albescens is easy to grow under average moisture conditions.
