This cool tree (metaphorically speaking) is one of only a handful of deciduous conifers. With our southern heat, this is our only "larch" of choice. The foliage along the branches is whorls of light green needle like leaves, which turns a beautiful gold as it drops in the fall. Although it is slow growing when young, it gradually picks up speed, becoming a truly spectacular garden specimen!
