Variegated plant nut alert! This amazing form of our native woodland phlox (aka wild phlox) was discovered at Montrose Gardens in Hillsborough, NC. The narrow green leaves are each bordered in white. In early spring, the evergreen clumps are topped with 4" spikes of blue-lavender flowers. P. 'Montrose Tricolor' is much less vigorous than the species, and therefore is perfect in a rock garden or for that special woodland spot away from larger more aggressive plants.
