    Spectacular US native phlox (P. pilosa...or possibly a hybrid with two native species)...it was a quiet rendevous and no one is talking! The slow spreading habit is similar to P. divaricata. In spring, the plant is smothered in exquisite lavender blue flowers with a contrasting purple eye. It is not an overly vigorous plant, and prefers a rich evenly moist soil...exquisite ground cover!
