(aka: Pennisetum TIFT-PA17) Pennisetum 'Etouffee' is another of the new sterile hybrids from the University of Georgia breeding program. For us, Etouffee fountain grass forms a 5' tall x 6' wide clump that begins flowering in midsummer with lovely plumes that emerge tan and age to bronzy lavender. Pennisetum 'Etouffee' is the largest and beefiest of the Pennisetum alopecuroides cultivars we've trialed. Because flowering starts later than most other fountain grass cultivars, the season of interest continues well into the fall...truly stunning!
