(syn: Boykinia watanabei) Small, bold, and bodacious describe Peltoboykinia...a fabulous member of the saxifrage family, which boasts 1' wide, deeply-cut, green, saucer-like leaves held atop 18" stems. In summer, the stunning clumps are topped with 30" rodgersia-like racemes of tiny greenish-yellow flowers. Peltoboykinia watanabei prefers rich, moist woodland soils and cool summers, but has been surprisingly easy to grow in our hot climate, although not as vigorously as it would in say...Seattle.
