Peltandra sagittiolia is a rare US native makes its home from coastal NC, south to coastal Mississippi. In form, the spade-shaped foliage of Peltandra sagittifolia resembles a shorter version of Peltandra virginica and is equally as easy to grow in cultivation...in a damp site. In the wild, Peltandra sagittifolia is usually found in very acidic bogs. In May/June, the clumps are adorned with 18" stalks, ending in beautiful spathiphyllum-like white flowers. When the flowers fade, they are replaced by attractive clusters of bright red berries.
