(aka: Cheilanthes viridis) Pellaea viridis 'Tiffendell' is our spore collection of the widespread South African dryland sun fern from just over 8,000' elevation at the country's only ski resort...who knew? Plants from this spore strain form sun-tolerant specimens to 20" tall x 2' wide. In our trials, these are evergreen down to 20 degrees F, and deciduous below. We've grown the evergreen Pellaea viridis 'Tiffendell' among cactus and agaves in our sunny rock garden, where it has thrived for over a decade.
