(aka: Iris x norrisii) The amazing candy lily, Pardancanda 'Heart of Darkness' has been a stunner in our trials. This 2002 Darrell Probst introduction, emerges from a clump of basal foliage with 46" tall, thin, but sturdy stalks, topping out for us in early July with open sprays of diurnally-open, six-petalled violet flowers, each highlighted by a darker purple eye. Unlike many of the xPardancanda hybrids, this one has proven sterile. As long as the soil isn't waterlogged, and you have at least four hours of direct sun daily, these should be easy to grow.
