This striking Bluemel introduction has rigidly upright steel blue foliage on an incredibly, narrow vertical clumper to 24" wide. In late summer and through fall, the clumps are topped with perfectly proportioned misty auburn-tinted plumes... held as rigidly upright as the foliage. P. 'Heavy Metal' can be used as a blending plant in the perennial border or for a stunning vertical accent.
