Monarda 'Leading Lady Lilac', a 2015 introduction from the Walters Gardens breeding program, is the plant we've long sought...a compact, non-running bee balm. Prior dwarfs on the market had no vigor or humidity tolerance, but that's not the case with this great introduction. Monarda 'Leading Lady Lilac' has excelled in our trials, forming a very compact 1' tall x 30" wide patch of fragrant foliage topped in early June with clouds of light lavender flowers. Truly superb...just ask the parade of cool insects that visit the flowers.
