Molinia caerulea ssp. arundinacea 'Windspiel'

Molinia 'Windspiel' is an excellent German selection of Moor Grass that has performed well, despite our heat and humidity. Originally thought to only be cool weather tolerant, we have been thrilled with their performance here in our hot humid, Zone 8a garden. Molinia 'Windspiel' forms a 30" clump of foliage, topped with an elegant show of 6'+ tall plumes, starting for us in late June. Moist soils are the key for best performance. Much of the lack of their popularity is also due to the difficulty photographing these amazing plants.
