This unique 2016 Walters Gardens xmangave is a hybrid with the narrow leaf Agave striata and the heavily spotted xMangave 'Bloodspot'. The 11" tall x 21" flattened, symmetrical clump reminds us of those fancy spinner hubcaps. The 1/4" wide blue silvery-grey, rubbery leaves with a flexible terminal spine, are covered with tiny, burgundy, pin prick-sized spots. xMangave 'Man of Steel' offsets similarly to its Agave striata parent. So far, we've only enjoyed these as container specimens and haven't had the chance to test in the ground, but xMangave 'Man of Steel' should have good potential winter hardiness in Zone 7b.
