Lycoris x straminea 'Ring of Gold' is a 2020 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a Phil Adams cross of Lycoris radiata var. pumila and Lycoris chinensis. The 18" tall green stalks emerge in late August (NC), topped with 5-6 yellow buds tipped with red streaks. The buds open to small, rich yellow, ruffled flowers with a darker golden yellow streak down the center of the petals, contrasting nicely to the cranberry-tipped anthers. The foliage emerges in early November and persists all winter.
