Lycoris 'Satsuma Hiryu' is a superb Japanese selection of Lycoris x rosea (Lycoris sprengeri x radiata), that produces 21" tall stalks, starting for us in mid-August. The terminal clusters of flowers emerge flaming red with blue tips, and ages toward raspberry. After flowering, the foliage emerges in mid-October and grows through the winter, until disappearing in early spring.
