This lovely surprise lily comes from the work of USDA breeder Margot Williams, formerly of Glenn Dale, Maryland, who crossed Lycoris radiata x Lycoris x haywardii in 1977. Plant Delights selected, named, and released Lycoris 'Glenn Dale Carmina' for the first time in 2014. Lycoris 'Glenn Dale Carmina' flowers for us atop 22" tall stalks in early August (NC), with rich, dark pink flowers, that have a central carmine stripe in the throat and petal tips of electric blue. After flowering, the basal foliage emerges in late October. Once these are sold out they will not be available again for many years.
