Lycoris radiata 'Fourth of July' is a Plant Delights named selection from a plant we acquired from plantsman Jim Waddick in the early 1990s. For us, this is the earliest flowering selection of Lycoris radiata, often starting as soon as early July, but after severe winters, not until early August. The 20" tall, cinnamon stalk is topped with 5-6 small, frilly salmon-orange flowers. The foliage emerges in fall.
