Lycoris x jinzheniae 'Haysper Gold' is a rare and stunning hybrid from the lycoris Godfather, the late Sam Caldwell, that's never been widely distributed. This cross of two spring-leaf species, Lycoris sprengeri (haywardii) and Lycoris chinensis (sperryi) produces 22" stalks of peach buds with blue tips that open to reveal light yellow flowers, starting for us in early August. After the flowers fade, the foliage doesn't emerge until late January/early February in NC.
