Lycoris x jinzheniae 'Cream Tower' is a hybrid from Japan's Komoriya Nursery, of a cross of Lycoris sprengeri and Lycoris chinensis. Based on its growth, this is either a backcross with a second set of genes from Lycoris chinensis, or possibly Lycoris aurea. Starting for us in late July, the 2' tall stalks are topped with clusters of flowers that emerge medium yellow, and age to a creamy yellow the second day. For us, the foliage emerges in late January, but in cold winter climates, that would be delayed later.
