    This Thurman Maness hybrid has red flowers, but it's more of a watermelon red than the scarlet red of the species...(RHS 57A) to be exact. For us, the inflorescence tends to be branched more than many of the other cultivars. Flowering atop the 3' stems begins in late summer here in NC.
