The southwest US native alligator juniper is rapidly becoming known in the rest of the world for having the best powdery blue foliage that a plant can possess! This specimen conifer forms a nice conical specimen to 10' tall in 10 years with a spread of 3'. The foliage remains powdery blue all season...great for providing color in the winter garden. In case you wondered, it's the bark that reminded someone of alligator skin, not the blue foliage.
