Hydrangea macrophylla 'Veitchii' is the perfect hydrangea to make a large statement in the garden...a really large statement in a really large garden. Hydrangea 'Veitchii' makes an insanely vigorous 5' tall x 10' wide giant clump adorned with rich, dark green leaves and covered in mid-May and June (NC), with massive lacecap flower heads composed of blue central fertile flowers (in acidic soil) surrounded by large white bracts. I can think of few plants we've grown which have this much garden impact.
